If you’re after a family-friendly spot that ticks all the boxes, Anglers Tavern is a must-visit! Located along the Maribyrnong River, this much-loved Melbourne landmark has recently had a stunning makeover, making it even better than before.

From the moment we arrived, it was clear that Anglers Tavern has something for everyone. Whether you’re keen to catch the game on their big screens or enjoy a relaxed meal with family, this place delivers. The new bistro serves up classic pub favourites, with a menu full of share plates, pizzas, and more that everyone will enjoy.

What really makes Anglers Tavern shine is its amazing kid-friendly features. They’ve got two dedicated kids’ rooms, each packed with fun! The Kids Quarters is a fantastic space with an outdoor playground, an interactive scrabble wall, an iPad station, bikes and trikes, and a giant noughts and crosses game. It’s perfect for keeping kids of all ages entertained while you relax.

For the little bookworms or those who prefer a quieter time, the Reading Room is a cosy space right off the family-friendly bistro area, ideal for kids to enjoy a book while parents can keep an eye on them.

Another great touch is the private parents’ room with change table facilities and a feeding chair, making it super convenient for families with little ones. Just note that the kids’ areas aren’t supervised by staff, so parents still need to keep a watchful eye.

Every Sunday from 12pm to 3pm, Anglers Tavern also hosts Little Tackers, offering free kids’ entertainment that’s sure to be a hit with the whole family. Our favourite was the magical butterfly enclosure, where kids can get up close with beautiful butterflies—a lovely experience for everyone.
Anglers Tavern is the perfect spot for families to eat, play, and relax by the river. It’s not just about the food; it’s about creating a fun, stress-free experience for the whole family. So next time you’re looking for a relaxed family outing, head to Anglers Tavern—you’ll love it!
