Helloooo poppets! You heard that right – one of the most loved family films of all time is officially heading to the Melbourne stage.
The hit West End and Broadway production Mrs. Doubtfire – The Musical will debut in Australia at the iconic Princess Theatre from November 2026, and it’s shaping up to be one of the biggest theatre events Melbourne families will be booking tickets for.
Based on the 1993 classic starring the unforgettable Robin Williams, the musical brings all the heart, humour and chaos we remember from the film — plus brand-new songs, high-energy dance numbers and plenty of laugh-out-loud moments.
Out-of-work actor Daniel Hillard will do absolutely anything for his kids. After a messy divorce leaves him without custody, he creates the unforgettable alter ego Euphegenia Doubtfire, a Scottish nanny who just might be his ticket to staying close to the people he loves most.
As the disguise takes on a life of its own, Daniel discovers what family, love and parenthood really mean – with plenty of comedy along the way.
