Top Things To See & Do in Bali for Families

This Bali guide covers the best things to do in Bali with kids, including where to stay, what to see, and the top family attractions we loved.

If you’re planning a family holiday to Bali, you’re in the right place. Bali is one of the most family-friendly destinations in the world, offering everything from wildlife encounters and cultural experiences to adventure activities and incredible food. On our latest trip, we travelled with family and friends – eight kids aged 7 to 17 – and discovered just how much Bali has to offer for families of all ages.

Where to Stay in Bali With Kids – Hard Rock Hotel Bali

When it comes to family-friendly accommodation in Bali, Hard Rock Hotel Bali in Kuta is one of the best choices. The resort has a huge lagoon-style pool, waterslides, daily activities for kids and multiple lifeguards on duty, making it ideal for families who want a safe and fun hotel close to everything.

Located right in the heart of Kuta, it’s walking distance to shops, markets, restaurants and just across the road from Kuta Beach. Whether you want a relaxing resort day or easy access to Bali’s best attractions, Hard Rock Hotel is a fantastic base for families.

GWK Cultural ParkA Must-Visit Bali Attraction for Families

Garuda Wisnu Kencana (GWK) Cultural Park is one of the top cultural attractions in Bali, and an incredible place to visit with kids.

The towering 121-metre statue of Lord Vishnu and Garuda is one of the tallest statues in the world, and the entire park offers a blend of art, culture, performances and stunning viewpoints.

Families can enjoy walking through the beautifully landscaped grounds, watching traditional Balinese dance shows and learning about local heritage in an interactive, kid-friendly way. It’s a must-see stop on any Bali itinerary.

Bali Zoo – Best Animal Encounter in Bali for Kids

If your family loves animals, Bali Zoo should be at the top of your Bali to-do list.

We began our visit with Breakfast with the Orangutans, which is one of the most popular animal experiences in Bali and perfect for families.

After breakfast, we spent the full day exploring the zoo and taking part in several feeding experiences.

The kids were able to feed elephants, meerkats, lemurs, ostriches and even tigers. These hands-on encounters make Bali Zoo one of the best family activities in Bali, especially for kids who love wildlife.

Tegalalang Rice Terrace – One of Bali’s Most Beautiful Places

A visit to Tegalalang Rice Terrace in Ubud is essential for families visiting Bali. This iconic landscape is famous for its layered green rice fields, sweeping views and scenic walkways.

The kids enjoyed exploring the paths, taking photos and stopping at the swings dotted throughout the terraces.

It’s a beautiful spot for families wanting to experience nature and iconic Bali scenery.

Monkey Forest Ubud – A Family Favourite

The Sacred Monkey Forest Sanctuary is another top Bali attraction that families love.

The forest is home to hundreds of monkeys, ancient temples and shady pathways that make it an exciting place to explore with children.

The monkeys are cheeky and entertaining, and the whole experience is both fun and educational. It’s a great way to introduce kids to Bali’s wildlife in a natural setting.

Ayung River Rafting – A Safe & Fun Bali Adventure for Kids

For families seeking adventure in Bali, river rafting on the Ayung River with Red Paddle Rafting was one of the highlights of our trip. We travelled with six kids (youngest aged seven) and felt completely safe the entire time.

The river is shallow in many areas, allowing the kids to hop in for a swim or take photos under small waterfalls. The scenery is stunning, the guides are professional, and the experience includes transport and a buffet lunch.

It’s a fantastic activity for families looking for safe and exciting things to do in Bali with kids.

ATV Ride in Ubud – Perfect for Families With Older Kids & Teens

Our ATV adventure in Ubud was another unforgettable experience.

The route takes you through rice fields, jungle trails, caves, tunnels and mud tracks – everything kids and teens love.

This activity is ideal for families with older children who enjoy excitement and outdoor fun. It’s messy, thrilling and gives you a unique way to see Bali’s landscape.

Turtle Island Bali – A Relaxing Family Outing

For a slower-paced experience, Turtle Island is a gentle and educational activity for families.

The boat ride is calm and scenic, and once there, the kids can see turtles up close and learn about conservation programs. It’s a lovely break between the high-energy activities and great for younger children.

Where to Eat in Bali With Kids – Family-Friendly Restaurants

Bali is full of incredible places to eat, and we enjoyed several great family-friendly restaurants on our trip.

Santorini Greek Restaurant in Kuta is one of our favourite dinner spots, offering generous portions, warm hospitality and food that the whole family enjoys.

For something unforgettable, Malini offers a cliff-top dining experience with ocean views, fresh seafood and even a pool overlooking the water.

It’s the perfect place for sunset – and yes, the kids will want to swim, so bring a change of clothes.

For a fun lunch spot in Seminyak, Sea Circus is always a winner with its bright interiors, delicious food and relaxed vibe that makes it perfect for families.

No family trip to Bali is complete without sunset at La Plancha.

Located on the sand in Seminyak, La Plancha is famous for its colourful beanbags, umbrellas and beachfront dining. It’s one of the best places in Bali to watch the sunset with kids – relaxed, vibrant and full of atmosphere.

The kids loved playing in the sand while we enjoyed tapas, fresh juices and the unbeatable sunset views. It’s casual, fun and one of the most iconic Bali restaurants on the beach.

Why Bali Is Perfect for Families

Travelling with eight kids aged 7 to 17 might sound overwhelming, but Bali makes family travel incredibly easy. With world-class attractions, beautiful nature, friendly locals and endless things to do, it’s one of the best destinations in the world for a family holiday.
