Victorians Break Records with $23.8 Million Raised for 2025 Good Friday Appeal

In an extraordinary show of generosity and community spirit, Victorians have rallied together to raise a record-breaking $23,822,792 for the 2025 Royal Children’s Hospital Good Friday Appeal.

From coin collections and local raffles to regional fundraising events and major city initiatives, the result is a powerful reflection of what can be achieved when communities unite for a cause close to all of our hearts – the health and care of sick children.

This year’s total marks the highest in the Appeal’s history, with regional and rural Victoria alone contributing a phenomenal $5,428,009.

Penny Fowler, Chairman of the Good Friday Appeal, praised the efforts across the state:

Penny Fowler – Chairman of the Good Friday Appeal

“From across the city and suburbs to small towns with big hearts… communities all across Victoria have united to make a huge difference for sick children and their families.”

This year’s Appeal saw remarkable contributions from organisations and individuals alike. The CFA, celebrating 80 years of service, raised $1,888,912, bringing their lifetime total to over $41 million. The Villawood and Henley Homes charity home brought in a record $1.15 million, while Woolworths teams and customers added $1,118,925 to the total. The popular SuperClash AFL game also chipped in $324,533, and the Appeal raffle raised a whopping $1,091,089.

The funds raised will go towards vital projects, including expanding Child Life Therapy into the Emergency Department, purchasing life-saving ultrasound equipment, enhancing support for regional health services, and investing in critical research and treatments for serious conditions like epilepsy, sepsis, and leukaemia. This year’s Appeal will also support the Art Therapy Program, offering a creative emotional outlet for hospitalised children.

For many, the Appeal is more than a fundraiser — it’s personal.

As a family who spent five months at the Royal Children’s Hospital when our premature twin boys were born in 2014, we know first-hand the world-class care, compassion, and expertise that this hospital offers. Supporting the Good Friday Appeal each year is our small way of giving back to a place that gave us so much when we needed it most.

Rebecca Cowan, Executive Director, The Good Friday Appeal

Executive Director Rebecca Cowan captured the sentiment perfectly:

“This incredible achievement is a testament to the Victorian spirit… your contribution has made a difference.”

Since 1931, the Good Friday Appeal has raised over $492 million, thanks to the unwavering support of Victorians, tireless volunteers, and committed partners like Channel 7, the Herald Sun, the AFL, Woolworths, and many more.

This year’s result isn’t just a number – it’s a symbol of hope, love, and community. And for the countless children and families who will benefit from this generosity, it’s life-changing.
