Looking for a family getaway with a twist? Our recent stay at Adina Apartment Hotel Pentridge Melbourne was just that—comfortable, exciting, and full of surprises. It’s the perfect spot for families after something a little different.

Set inside the old Pentridge Prison, the hotel is packed with character and history. The Pentridge Prison Tours were a real highlight—fascinating and full of stories. It’s not every day you get to sleep inside a former prison (in total comfort, of course!).

Our kids were thrilled to find the indoor pool hidden inside one of the old prison wings – it felt like a secret discovery! The rooms were spacious and modern, with beautiful views of the city. The stylish decor and clever design made it feel like a luxury escape.

We loved breakfast at North&COMMON, the hotel’s restaurant. It’s set in what used to be the prison cafeteria but now feels anything but. The à la carte breakfast was honestly one of the best we’ve had—delicious, fresh, and full of flavour.

Staying here means you’ve got everything at your feet. We caught a movie at Palace Cinemas (just downstairs!) and loved having a supermarket on-site for any quick snacks or essentials. Super handy when you’re travelling with kids.

The hotel offers free bike hire, which was a great way to check out the local area. There are plenty of parks and paths nearby, and it added a fun, active element to our stay.
