Bistrot Bisou by Chef Luke Mangan Now Open in Melbourne

Celebrated chef Luke Mangan has brought his culinary expertise back to Melbourne with the opening of his French restaurant, Bistrot Bisou. Located on the corner of Flinders Lane and Spencer Street, within the boutique Hotel Indigo, this new venue marks Mangan’s return to Melbourne after over a decade.

Bistrot Bisou features a relaxed atmosphere with modern interpretations of classic French dishes, complemented by a selection of cocktails and a wine list that includes both French and Australian varieties. Mangan expressed his excitement about bringing his vision to life in Melbourne, noting the city’s European ambience and the current popularity of French cuisine.

The menu offers timeless favourites such as steak frites, twice-baked gruyere souffle, and apple tarte tatin, all with contemporary twists.

Dishes are prepared on a wood-fired grill using ironbark and hardwood charcoal to infuse smoky flavours. The restaurant also smokes its salmon and crafts house-made terrines from free-range Victorian roosters.

Bistrot Bisou is open for lunch from Wednesday to Friday and for dinner from Tuesday to Saturday.
