We recently enjoyed a much-needed family staycation at Dorsett Melbourne during the school holidays, and it was incredible! From the moment we arrived, we knew we were in for a treat.

Its prime location offers easy access to all that Melbourne has to offer. Within a 30-minute drive from Tullamarine Airport and just a short walk from Southern Cross Station, getting to and from the hotel was a breeze.
During our stay, we took advantage of the hotel’s proximity to the city’s major attractions. With free tram zone stops easily accessible on foot, we explored the laneways, cultural hotspots, and shopping destinations Melbourne is famous for. Bourke Street Mall, Melbourne Central, and the Emporium were just a short tram ride away, while Marvel Stadium, Spencer Street Outlet, Docklands, and Southbank were within walking distance.
We also discovered numerous dining precincts and entertainment venues nearby, including Southbank, Melbourne Convention & Exhibition Centre, the casino, and LUME Melbourne.
Our family of seven comfortably stayed in an interconnecting Dorsett King Room and Deluxe Room with two double beds and a fold-out sleeping arrangement. It was the perfect setup, providing ample space for everyone to relax and unwind after exploring Melbourne.
Back at the hotel, we enjoyed the complimentary games room, with pinball and arcade machines which the kids loved.
After a day of adventures, we savoured cozy nights with the hotel’s convenient in-room dining options, available every day from 3 pm to 10 pm. Farewell to traditional room service trolleys – at Dorsett Melbourne, meals arrived just like our food delivery orders at home, in brown paper bags, making it a convenient and homely experience. And to kickstart our mornings, we delighted in a buffet breakfast at Port Bistro. With a variety of hot and cold dishes and Melbourne’s finest brewed coffee, there was something to satisfy every member of the family’s taste buds.
Overall, our stay at Dorsett Melbourne was everything we hoped for and more. With its convenient location, comfortable accommodations, family-friendly amenities, and delicious dining options, it’s the perfect choice for anyone looking to explore Melbourne or enjoy a relaxing getaway in the heart of the city.
