Get ready to ignite your winter nights, Melbourne, because Firelight, the city’s beloved winter festival, is back! From June 30th to July 2nd, for three fiery nights, Docklands will transform into a flame-filled wonderland that promises a feast for the senses.

This annual celebration of flame-filled arts is an event like no other, and the best part? It’s absolutely free to enter! Docklands will come alive after dark, welcoming families to a captivating program featuring performances, entertainment, culinary delights, and mesmerizing fire-inspired art.

Picture this: 35 flame jets lighting up the night sky, fire sculptures creating a fiery spectacle, dazzling fire performers, African drumming, live music, storytelling, and roving mythical characters adding to the enchantment. And that’s not all! Brace yourself for an epic light installation that will adorn the night sky, creating a magical ambience.

With over 125 performers gracing the precinct across the festival, you’re in for a treat. From musicians and fire twirlers to circus acts and flaming trumpeters, the variety of talent is astounding.

As you explore the festival’s offerings, you’ll find an array of fire sculptures, flame jets, and fire pits, ensuring a toasty experience on even the coldest nights. Don’t forget to keep an eye out for the Messenger, a five-meter-high puppet that’ll be wandering Harbour Esplanade each night.

And be sure to visit Docklands Central Park to witness the dazzling oversized light installation called Trumpet Flowers, or gaze upon the sky above Victoria Harbour, where a mesmerizing web of lights will adorn all three promenades.

As you revel in the fiery wonders, your appetite will be well taken care of by the festival’s vendors. Indulge in wintry delights like smoked meats, woodfired pizza, and roasted marshmallows, all washed down with hot chocolate and mulled wine.
