VICTORIA’S BEST KEPT SECRET – MORNINGTON PENINSULA HOT SPRINGS
Have you ever considered spending a relaxing day at hot springs with your little ones?

Well, we decided to give it a shot at Victoria’s very first Hot Springs, just an hour’s drive south of Melbourne in the charming town of Rye.

Peninsula Hot Springs proudly holds the title of being Victoria’s pioneer in natural thermal mineral springs. Their Bath House is tailored to be family-friendly, welcoming visitors of all ages. Stepping inside, we were greeted with over 20 delightful bathing experiences inspired by diverse cultures from around the world. There’s everything from a snug cave pool and a reflexology walk to a Turkish steam bath (Hamam), an underground sauna, cold plunge pools, and a hilltop pool that treats you to sweeping 360-degree views of this beautiful region.

Stepping into this bathing wonderland felt like entering a different realm—a tranquil sanctuary that immediately reminded us of a Balinese holiday, just as the kids excitedly pointed out. Surrounded by the soothing sounds of nature and the gentle flow of water, it truly felt like a little slice of paradise.

We soaked up the warmth, relaxed at the Spa Dreaming Centre, and later savored a delightful meal at the café, all within this serene coastal setting.

Peninsula Hot Springs offers two main facilities, ensuring everyone in the family can have an amazing time. The Bath House is where the real excitement happens, with its 20-plus bathing experiences suitable for visitors of all ages. Imagine a Hill Top pool with astonishing views, a reflexology walk to pamper those tired feet, a Turkish steam room for a taste of the exotic, a sauna, cave pool, family bathing area, and so much more. And when hunger strikes, a kiosk awaits with delicious lunches and light morning and afternoon snacks.

Our little ones were over the moon about the barrel tubs and family pools, where the water was as warm as 43°C. They were having so much fun, they didn’t want to leave. And honestly, who could blame them? It’s truly one of Victoria’s best-kept secrets!

To wrap up our wonderfully relaxing day, we treated the kids to their all-time favorite—pizzas from the cafe.

And here are some cool facts we learned during our visit:
The natural hot mineral spring water, at a toasty 50°C, flows from an underground aquifer a whopping 637 meters below the surface. It flows directly from the source to the pools, where the temperatures range from 37°C to 43°C. These thermal mineral waters are loaded with various natural minerals, including sulfur, calcium, magnesium, potassium, and more.
